The AD310 only supports the diagnosis of emission-related issues. If the engine fault is unrelated to the emission system, it cannot read the engine fault codes. The AD310 only supports use with the OBDII interface. If your vehicle has an OBDI interface, diagnosis cannot be performed even if an OBDII adapter is used.

Perfect scan tool/code reader. Price is better than most especially for the quality and ease of use. We have x5 vehicles and have purchased one for each car and the 3 trucks. Nice to have in the vehicle when/if needed. Easy resets get home or to the repair shop and easy to check after repairs are made that the problem/s are corrected and no longer an issue. Have tried other brands but this is perfect for everyone, with or without mechanical experience. Plug and play device.

Just got it in the mail – feels like a quality product. I immediately plugged it into the car with no issues. Instructions were easy to follow and the accuracy of which it read the code was impressive. I finally know what part I need and I was also able to clear the code. It connects to any car, because I used it to help a friend as well. The price is SO worth it. I would have paid $100+ just to get this done at a dealership.

Basic Code Reader That Works, But Limited Beyond the Basics
The ANCEL AD310 does exactly what a basic OBD2 scanner is supposed to do: read and clear engine fault codes on 1996+ vehicles. It powers directly from the OBD port, requires no batteries, and is simple to navigate. For checking a check-engine light, pulling a code, and clearing it after a repair, it performs reliably and consistently.That said, it’s strictly entry-level. It does not offer advanced diagnostics, live data depth, ABS/SRS access, or manufacturer-specific modules. The screen is basic, and the cable length is adequate but not generous. If you just need a no-frills tool to confirm a code before deciding on repairs, it’s fine. If you expect deeper diagnostic capability, you’ll outgrow it quickly.
